Prince Harry to Miss King Charles During UK Invictus Trip

(LibertySons.org) – It’s not exactly news that the relationship between the United Kingdom’s King Charles III and his youngest son, Prince Harry, known as the Duke of Sussex, is strained at best. The young royal stepped back from his official duties in 2020 and moved to the United States with his wife, Meghan Markle, straining relations. While Harry made a brief visit to the UK following his father’s cancer diagnosis in February, he did not see him during his recent trip to London to celebrate the Invictus Games.

According to Prince Harry’s spokesperson, the young royal was unable to meet with King Charles because of the latter’s “full program,” which included a garden party at Buckingham Palace on the same day Harry attended the Invictus service. The spokesperson continued, “The Duke, of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”

While that was the official statement, many speculate there was much more going on behind the scenes, including some demands during negotiations on the part of Prince Harry that his father wasn’t giving into. Others speculate that it had to do with Queen Camilla, whom the Duke attacked in his book, “The Spare.” According to a friend of the king and queen, the couple isn’t over “cruel” comments Harry made in the memoir. The same source notes that “Charles loves his sons, but he also loves his wife,” while Harry has essentially forced his father to choose.

The Duke will not be seeing his brother, Prince William, on this trip either. The two also have a strained relationship that was evident during King Charles’ coronation last year, when the pair didn’t interact. The last time they were photographed together was in 2022 at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, and things were just as strained then.
