Biden Insults Putin and Mocks Trump at San Francisco Fundraiser

( – In addition to leading the United States, President Joe Biden is also actively on the campaign trail. His latest fundraiser took place in northern California. According to CBS News, the president recently landed at the San Francisco International Airport on Air Force One, where he was greeted by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and San Francisco Mayor London Breed (D).

During the event, Biden had a few choice words to say about former President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to POLITICO, the US president said Putin was a “crazy SOB” while poking fun at Trump for likening his legal woes to Alexei Navalny — a Russian political activist widely believed to be murdered in prison for opposing Putin.

After Judge Arthur Engoron ruled that the former president had to pay a $355 million judgment for fraud — plus interest — Trump complained about the punishment at a Fox News town hall. Politico reported the former US leader said the judgment was a “form of Navalny,” “communism,” or “fascism.”

Biden said Trump’s remarks were bizarre, stating if he said something like that “10 to 15 years ago,” the audience would think he “should be committed.” He also said leaders around the world are rooting for him to win re-election in 2024, stating at least “nine heads of state” have told him he needs to come out on top because “democracy is at stake if [Trump] wins.” Regarding Putin, Biden said the “crazy SOB” and others like him mean the US always has to “worry about nuclear conflict.”

Biden also warned that the looming threat that affects every human is “climate” — the focus of the fundraiser. Still, the president had a bright outlook on the future of climate change, stating most people are on board and don’t need “convinc[ing]” anymore. Following the fundraiser in San Francisco, Mercury News reported that the president was headed to another fundraiser in Los Altos Hills.
