(LibertySons.org) – Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has got herself into a new controversy. This time, she’s attracted the fire of a far-left antiwar protest group that’s been picketing her San Francisco home. Last October, she had a verbal confrontation with protesters. Now, a video of the event has surfaced.
Pelosi Blasts Peaceniks
On October 29, 2023, Pelosi was leaving her home when she was heckled by protesters from Code Pink, a left-wing group that was calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The group has been protesting outside Pelosi’s house since Hamas massacred over 1,200 Israelis on October 7, and it looks like she quickly ran out of patience with them.
In the video, the young activists tell Pelosi –- who’s been a Democrat congresswoman for 37 years –- that “the Democrats want a ceasefire!” as she climbs into her chauffeur-driven SUV. Just before she closes the door on them, Pelosi snaps “Go back to China, where your headquarters is.”
Although the incident happened over two months ago, it’s now being turned against Pelosi. The activist she was confronting was African-American, and when the video started circulating on January 29, she was quickly accused of racism. In fact, there’s a lot more to the incident than the video shows.
Group Has Chinese Links
Firstly, Code Pink played a big part in inflaming the situation. The group openly admitted their goal was to “briefly hold Pelosi ‘hostage.’” Some would argue that doing this on the first anniversary of the October 29, 2022, hammer attack on her husband, Paul, by a man who also said he wanted to hold Pelosi hostage was unnecessarily provocative.
Secondly, Code Pink is linked to the Chinese Communist Party. An August 2023 investigation by the liberal New York Times found the group is part of a network of left-wing groups financed by Neville Roy Singham, an American millionaire who lives in China and shares office space with a CCP propaganda team. When Code Pink was founded, it criticized China’s oppression of its Muslim Uyghur minority; since money from Singham started to flow to the group, it’s flipped its position and now defends Beijing’s policy of interning the Uyghurs in concentration camps.
Nancy Pelosi is a very liberal left-wing Democrat, but even she can recognize Code Pink for what it really is –- a CCP influence operation. To her credit, she’s supported Israel’s right to defend itself since the October 7 attacks, and that quickly made her the target of pro-China extremists. Her reply to the activists might have been an attack on free speech, but it could also have been a backlash against Chinese influence.
