MTG Accuses Georgia DA’s ‘Secret Boyfriend’ of Major Violations in Trump Case

(LibertySons.org) – Fiery congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has been one of former president Donald Trump’s most loyal defenders. Now she’s gunning for the Georgia prosecutor who’s prosecuting Trump on election interference charges. According to MTG, Fani Willis is using taxpayers’ money to hire her unqualified “secret boyfriend” to work on the Trump case.

Greene Alleges Corruption

Last August, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, a Democrat, indicted Trump and 18 others on charges related to alleged interference in the 2020 presidential election. So far, no date has been set for the trial, raising concerns that it could interfere with Trump’s campaign for this year’s election. Meanwhile, MTG has gone on the offensive and is going after Willis.

On January 25, Greene filed a complaint with the Georgia ethics commission. The target of the complaint is Nathan Wade, an attorney Willis hired to work with White House counsel on the Trump case. According to the strongly conservative lawmaker, Willis and Wade had an inappropriate romantic relationship –- and she says that’s why Willis hired him despite his complete lack of experience in trying felony cases.

Greene’s complaint says Wade was paid a “significantly higher rate” than another, experienced special prosecutor Willis hired for the case. Allegedly, Wade was paid almost $700,000 of taxpayers’ money –- and he then spent much of it on Willis. The complaint alleges that Wade took Willis on several luxury vacations, including a Caribbean cruise and a trip to Napa. He also allegedly gave her gifts that exceeded the limits allowed for lobbyists. Greene says this adds up to “serious violations of the Georgia Campaign Finance Act” and wants the public to hear the truth.

Lobbyist or Something Else?

The complaint outlines an alleged campaign of lobbying by Wade’s law firm aimed at Willis, which began in 2021. Greene says he failed to register as a lobbyist but gave Willis excessive gifts, and in return, she awarded him no-bid contracts and paid him inflated rates for his work. She’s calling for Wade to be fined for each lobbying report he hasn’t submitted and prosecuted under the state’s campaign finance laws.

If the ethics commission investigates Greene’s complaint and finds it to be accurate, the blow to Willis’s reputation will strip her investigation of Trump of all legitimacy among his many supporters. Democrats seem to have tried to tie Trump up in legal chains to make him look bad and harm his campaign. Instead, it’s shining a light on their own tactics –- and they’re not coming out of it well.
