(LibertySons.org) – With the Republican National Convention in full swing, both former President Donald Trump and current Commander-In-Chief Joe Biden are looking for all the support they can get. Every endorsement is critical, so when a long-time supporter switches sides, it’s big news. Such is the case with former Democrat heavy-hitter Bill Ackman.
According to Forbes, Bill Ackman has a net worth of over $9 billion. In the past, he has used his vast fortune to support the likes of Barack Obama and Joe Biden. In this election cycle, Ackman has announced he’s going in a different direction with his political donations.

In a lengthy post on X, formerly Twitter, Ackman said he would formally endorse Trump over Biden for president. He understands that many Biden supporters will think he has “lost it” to do an about-face in his loyalty, but assures readers that he has “made this decision carefully, rationally, and by relying on as much empirical data as possible.”
Ackman warned his followers to “keep an open mind” when deciding who to vote for and not to rely on information gleaned from the mainstream media or from family and friends who rely on the media for their information.
His announcement came just hours after the assassination attempt on Trump’s life in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, but the timing doesn’t seem to be related as Ackman says he has been supporting Trump and criticizing Biden in his posts for some time.
Ackman says he will explain his decision in more detail as the November election approaches, but he wanted to be “formally on the record” now. He says he recently spent time with the former president and will reveal his insights from that meeting then as well.
Ackman joins another billionaire, Elon Musk, who says he will support Trump with a sizeable donation.
