(LibertySons.org) – Stiff winds blowing through Washington, DC, on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 28, toppled a 40-foot Norway spruce recently transported from the Monongahela National Forest of West Virginia and planted on the White House Ellipse, also known as “President’s Park,” by the National Park Service (NPS) in preparation for the annual White House Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. Many pundits and critics took to social media to share their observations about how the Biden administration’s blunder in allowing the decorated tree to hit the dirt perfectly symbolized Biden’s presidency.
Fox host Jesse Watters shared a post on X, formerly Twitter, highlighting a tongue-in-cheek report from Fox White House reporter Peter Doocy. Watters quipped that the tree had “taken a tumble — just like its owner.”

Meanwhile, in the accompanying report, Doocy joked that climate change was not just the greatest threat to humanity but to the White House Christmas tree as well. He mentioned that Biden was traveling to Colorado in Air Force One “as this all went down… literally went down.” Doocy ended his report by telling his audience that polls found most voters thought “Father Time” remained Biden’s biggest obstacle to reelection. Yet, Doocy suggested that on Tuesday night, his biggest challenge was “Mother Nature.”
Other pundits couldn’t resist the opportunity to poke fun at Biden and his administration, either. Richard Grenell, the Director of National Intelligence under former President Donald Trump, cracked that Team Biden failed to secure the White House Christmas tree — “Just like they do with everything.”
The Right to Bear Memes account on X added a photoshopped image of Biden on the ground in front of the tree with a ladder. They used a photo of the president from an incident at the Air Force Academy earlier this year where Biden tripped and fell on stage during the graduation ceremony.
Pro-life activist Kristan Hawkens commented that it somehow made sense because “a stiff breeze blows Biden over, too.”
The NPS righted the tree by 6 pm Tuesday evening and replaced a cable snapped by wind gusts that reached up to 46 miles per hour. As expected, the president and first lady held the tree lighting ceremony on Thursday, November 30, to welcome the holiday season.
