(LibertySons.org) – First Lady Jill Biden was aboard a flight and on her way to an event in Michigan when suddenly the crew decided to turn back and head back to the Denver International Airport. An issue with the aircraft prompted the crew to turn around for safety reasons. According to Vanessa Valdivia, a spokeswoman for the First Lady, Biden’s trip will take place at a “later date.”
Valdivia said that “everyone is safe” and “back on the ground in Denver.” According to The Hill, Biden was on her way to Michigan to attend an event as part of the White House’s “Investing in America Tour.”

Initial reports related to the incident were vague, indicating only that Biden’s aircraft turned around shortly after take-off for an unspecified safety issue. Fox News later reported that the plane Biden was aboard developed a crack in the windshield, citing a statement from the spokeswoman of the Air Force’s 89th Airlift Wing.
The spokeswoman noted that the “windshield crack” was “non-threatening.” She explained the crew’s decision to alter the plane’s course and head back to Denver was to offset the potential risks posed by the crack to the “integrity” of the aircraft’s windshield. Likewise, she cited icing conditions in Michigan that could impact the flight’s landing as a concern.
The First Lady was supposed to speak at the main campus of Delta College located in Bay County, Michigan to tout the school’s workforce training program. Her spokesperson confirmed that organizers will reschedule the event at a later date. Biden is also set to visit Vermont and Maine as part of the “Investing in America Tour.” As of now, those events will take place as scheduled.
The 89th Airlift Wing spokeswoman confirmed that a military plane transported the First Lady to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.
